With Bette & Cring Construction Group, I have nearly 2 decades of experience in the construction industry. As the Design Manager, I work on our Design-Build projects at the earliest phases to define project design goals, scope, and schedules. I regularly produce site development plans to explore design concepts and options for our clients for budget feasibility studies. In this manner I have worked on projects ranging from offices, hotels, and multi-family housing to historic preservation. Once we have determined the parameters of the project, I aid in the selection of architects, engineers, and other consultants for the project team and work as an owner’s advocate to coordinate the design team and the construction team. I work hand in hand with our project managers to ensure the design concepts are within budget and practical, using BIM technologies in pre-construction meetings to speed on-site construction and reduce error. I provide guidance to the design team in matters concerning building science and green building practices, whether the project is scheduled for certification or not. If required, I guide the LEED/NGBS certification process and manage all the documentation for each project. I also assist project teams in product research and bid review for program compliance. I have also played a pivotal role in educating the firm’s management and technical staff on current sustainability issues and the programs and policies of the USGBC.For our Bid/Build projects such as schools and university buildings, I assist the project by managing the BIM coordination process. I organize and produce 3D model visualizations for large, complex projects to facilitate problem solving among all the trades using Navisworks, Revit, and Autocad.

Providing design services for all phases of a project, from site layout to interior design, I incorporate the tenets of sustainable design into each project I create. My projects span from boutique office interiors to historic restorations and renovations. Simplicity, quality, and timelessness are the tenets that inform my design sense.
