About Beth Peters

I help health care organizations develop strong processes that allow service providers to follow the rules and delivery quality care to patients. As a new nurse working the night shift at a busy labor and delivery unit, I learned fast that loss prevention and process improvement are an important part of the health care environment. As I struggled one night to take care of a large volume of patients, while short on staff and resources, I asked the guiding question of my profession – whose job is it to look out for the safety and satisfaction of the patient? The answer? It’s everyone’s job, we just need competent people to establish strong, practical guidelines and procedures.Since that night, I have dedicated myself to becoming a health care professional who develops processes and solves problems to help deliver quality patient care. Eventually, I went to law school to learn about patients’ rights and how to protect them. I accepted a job in risk management to employ performance improve and risk mitigation techniques to help the care providers on the front line deliver the best possible services. Later, while in the legal department, I became adept at protecting both the patient and the hospital through strong operational processes and litigation management. I moved into compliance to help strengthen the regulatory and business practices of the organization, always with the patient in mind. Through processes like enterprise risk management, internal audit, information privacy and security, and regulatory readiness, I make a difference in the lives of the patient – one process at a time.Core Competencies: Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) ▪ Regulatory Compliance ▪ Litigation Management ▪ Privacy & Security ▪ Operational Audits ▪ Financial Analysis ▪ Problem Solving ▪ Change Management ▪ Training Programs ▪ Process Improvement ▪ IT Audits ▪ Project Management ▪ Business Analytics ▪ Cost Reduction ▪ Risk Financing ▪ Performance Improvement
