Beth had financial accountability for over $300M, staff of 3,200 and was in charge of the facility management of 23 million square feet of administrative buildings, schools, warehouses and distribution centers. Her team had oversight of over 200 buildings and various vacant properties. Beth also led a self-delivery nutrition services department with annual budget of $90M and outsourced custodial and transportation services valued at $42M annually.At SCS, Beth leveraged a solution oriented approach to optimize her organization and target critical strategic initiatives to solve complex issues. Through her leadership Beth achieved several major accomplishments leveraging a combination of internal process improvements and outsourced solutions. Beth led the due diligence to purchase new 23-acre campus and consolidate 14 buildings and 1750 staff, saving $5M in annual operating costs and $40M in deferred maintenance. She also developed the vision to optimize the food supply chain to achieve projected savings of $3-5M annually. This solution was very unique in the nutrition services K-12 space. Through improved relationship building and establishing credibility with SCS funders, Beth secured several of the largest Capital awards in District history (over $150M). She also designed a solution to outsource construction management services and implemented an approach to bundle construction projects driving $2M in savings and reducing procurement timing.

This effort eventually led to the Guckenheimer acquisition. She also led the development of the sales operations function focused on sales effectiveness including strategy, marketing, forecasting, budgeting, process optimization, compensation design, quota management and allocation of resources to meet strategic market penetration and growth objectives. Beth crafted strategies to drive improvement in commercial capabilities; built and implemented a talent assessment process to ensure the new business development organization had the competencies to design and sell the new integrated facilities management solutions. She also developed a customer retention program improving account retention from 85% to 94.3%. Through implementation of growth, retention and cost savings transformation programs developed by Beth and her team, EBIT improved from 1% to 6% in 2 years.
