I currently work in the Assurance Group focusing on privately held manufacturing and distribution clients, for-profit health care entities and employee benefit plan audits.My assurance group team is focused to understand each client situation is unique and requires a customized approach. We identify specific needs and issues, enabling us to tailor solutions. When providing assurance services, we set expectations with clients and discuss the information we need and the tests we will perform. We evaluate both the accounting systems and internal controls to plan the audit, and then determine the nature, timing, and extent of the procedures to be performed. We offer advice for improving controls and quality of information so management can receive efficient, reliable information.As part of the audit, we identify risk to determine focus areas and verify significant accounting records, including evidence supporting transactions recorded in the accounts, tests of physical existence of assets, and direct confirmation of certain assets and liabilities. We also help our clients understand the accounting principles necessary to prepare financial statements. In addition, we are available to present the audited financial statements to the governing board of the client and help them understand the various disclosures.

I worked in the National Learning Group writing technical accounting training material.• Responsible for the development and delivery of the technical accounting training material deployed to staff through manager levels at Ernst & Young• Interacted with various departments and levels throughout the firm, as a result of the development and the review process for the training material• Developed specific training materials that compared the current US GAAP standards to the applicable IFRS standard, pointing out the similarities and differences, and developed case studies highlighting the differences
