As the HR contact for the UK Secretarial population and Finance department, I advise on a broad range of HR matters, including:- Partnering with managers to build strong relationships, working closely with global counterparts, to ensure consistent support allowing the departments to function and grow as truly global teams; - Headcount planning and recruitment, supporting managers and the Recruitment team on budgetary approvals, salary benchmarking and reviewing JDs;- Sickness absence advise, reviewing OH recommendations, ensuring reasonable adjustments are made, managing long-term absences and GIP claims with insurers;- Advise on various ER processes including probationary meetings & performance concerns; - Advise on the Firm’s policies and procedures and their application in a range of scenarios;- Flexible working requests, ensuring the best outcome for all is achieved;- Contribute to cyclical annual HR processes, including talent mapping (9-Box Grid model), salary review, promotions and the launch of a new performance review process;- Present the Firm’s weekly HR Induction; and - Oversee the HR Coordinator and HR Assistant, ensuring all administrative activities for my groups are completed in a timely manner and documentation produced is of the highest standard - mentoring and training where appropriate.

Drafting settlement agreements and calculating redundancy packages;- First line HR queries, escalating as appropriate to the relevant HRBP; and- Recruitment for HR roles, including posting jobs on the ATS, screening CVs, booking interviews, liaising with agencies, and drafting offer paperwork.

Sitting within the UK Business Services and Secretarial team (c. 400 staff), responsibilities included:- First point of contact for any HR queries;- Onboarding (including consultants, agency temps & internal moves). - Processing all leavers actions; - Monthly Payroll changes and liaising with Payroll Manager on ad-hoc payroll queries;- Probation process for new joiners;- Variation of contract administration, including FTC extensions, title and department changes secondments and relocations;- Note-taking and administration for various ER issues, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management and redundancies;- Maintain employee data on the HR system (HR Select, then PeopleSoft);- Responsibility for the Business Services e-files for the twice-annual external ISO audit; and- Various other administrative tasks, including but not limited to sickness reporting, jury service, references, reports, and discussion forums.
