Beth A. Slagle, an attorney at the law firm of Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP, maintains an active practice focused principally on business issues, insurance coverage and employment law. She is the Chair of the firm's Diversity Group, Chair of the Insurance Coverage Litigation Group and Co-Chair of the firm's New Venture & Entrepreneurs Group. Ms. Slagle’s practice includes representing entities and individuals in a variety of insurance coverage and contract related claims. She has recovered millions of dollars for companies, including more than $100,000,000 for a single corporate client. She is named to Best Lawyers in America 2010-2024 (Insurance), 2013-2024 (Commercial Litigation); Employment Law (2023, 2024). She also has significant experience in employment law matters as well as representation of serial entrepreneurs. One of her passions is helping women and minorities launch and sustain their business. From 2005 to 2013, Ms. Slagle founded and ran BizChicks, a professional women’s organization focused on networking, education and empowerment. 2011 brought the newest expansion with BizChicks Online, an e-zine written by and for women. In 2005, she was named a finalist for the ATHENA Award, and in 2004, was recognized as a "Fast Tracker" by the Pittsburgh Business Times. She currently serves as Chair of the Board of 412 Food Rescue and as Secretary to the Board of Grounded Strategies. Beth also is an Advisory Board member for Chatham University's Center for Women's Entrepreneurship, a board member of the Civic Law Project for the Women's Center & Shelter and a board member for the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society.
