Schools Marketing Coordinator
Events And Marketing Executive
Amid the start of the Coronavirus pandemic I went on secondment to the Digital Team at The Spectator as digital-events liaison. I worked on an innovative project to create a digital events platform to allow the company to continue to make revenue, at a time where it was no longer possible to run events at full capacity. I was able to work with a new team of people and brief in requirements from the Events and the Commercial teams. This platform, launched as 'Spectator TV', was used to stream 'The Week in 60 Minutes' hosted by Andrew Neil. Through a successful marketing campaign, this subsequently gained sponsorship from NatWest and Charles Stanley Wealth Managers. The platform was also used to host virtual fringe events during the Conservative Party Conference, and subsequent events throughout the year. Other responsibilities included:- Working on Spectator TV’s ‘The Week in 60 Minutes’, hosted by Andrew Neil; filming guests at The Spectator offices, and filming on-location.- Setting up virtual events, ensuring live streams worked, and trouble-shooting when necessary.- Producing event adverts for The Spectator and The Telegraph.- Managing social media accounts and live tweeting every Thursday during 'The Week in 60 Minutes'.- Managing Spectator TV and Spectator Events websites.- Creating marketing emails through Campaign Monitor.
Events Team Assistant
In this role I worked closely with the Events team and Marketing team to assist where needed depending on the time of year and the events that were coming up.My main responsibilities included:- Briefing in adverts for insertion into The Spectator and The Telegraph.- Supporting annual events such as The Spectator Parliamentarian of the Year Awards and The Spectator Summer Party.-Working at all events.-Creating and developing social media plans and emails on Campaign Monitor.-Updating the Spectator Events website and Eventbrite with new event listings.-Answering any queries from customers via email and telephone. -Completing research on competitors and creating surveys for customers.
Project Assistant
**Shortlisted for a National Undergraduate Employability Award for my contribution to a small/ medium sized business.**Working with a small team allowed me to treat my placement year like a full-time job. I was able to gain social media experience by helping to run numerous client accounts across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, writing posts, sourcing imagery and assisting with analytic reports. In addition to this I was given my own project to create an 'event in a box' to distribute across the country to a number of Goldsmiths jewellery stores. This allowed the stores to create their own in-store experiences, with mulled wine, bespoke chocolates, handmade crackers and personalised giveaways. This gave me the opportunity to build on my problem solving skills as well as improving my communication with a client. This was so successful, I managed the project twice again. Throughout the year I was also able to assist with research projects and strategy documents as well as organising site visits, liaising with suppliers, booking entertainment and managing guest lists for a range of high-profile companies and clients in the luxury retail sector.
