My work with AOL covered three major business areas over 16 years, leading significant QA efforts in each. In AOL Open Business Infrastructure, my work emphasized advancing the use of test automation and ensuring billing system compliance in handling sensitive customer information. In Huffington Post/AOL Demand, my work emphasized process improvement to facilitate strong QA efforts in numerous fast paced development cycles. In AOL Search, I focused on leading QA efforts for mission critical systems used company-wide, managing test infrastructure resources, and coordinating the work of junior QA personnel. In all areas, I developed and executed strong test plans; installed new code to QA systems and evaluated installation procedures; and mentored more junior QA engineers.

Served as a quality assurance engineer on PLS products – which provided search capabilities for both PCs and enterprise use. Note: company was acquired by AOL in Jan 1998 and was folded in to AOL Search. I tested both UIs and backend APIs. Served as lead QA for PLWeb, a CGI web-based system for searching back-end databases.

Provided second-tier technical support for restaurants that used Micros integrated Point of Sale (POS) systems to process credit card transactions. I supported system installations in collaboration with banks, business owners, and Micros dealers to ensure systems and account information were correctly configured. Resolved technical issues that were beyond the scope of Micros' first-level support, ranging from system connectivity to transaction processing.
