As a part of the Internal Audit practice, I worked on projects for public and private companies including operational audits and SOX implementation and testing. Some of my clients included auto manufacturers, steel manufacturers, retail grocery stores, and regulated utilities. Working in internal audit at KPMG was good for me in a number of ways. The variety of projects and clients meant that I was always learning. KPMG also threw me into a lot of new situations and settings. It wasn’t uncommon to walk into the office in the morning and learn that I’d be a plane the next day, traveling to a client location.
