The Aspen Policy Academy turns professionals into policy changemakers. We offer innovative and interactive training programs to equip leaders across sectors – from tech to climate, science to social impact – with the practical policy skills to craft solutions for society’s most pressing challenges.

The Hub, part of the Aspen Institute, is a West Coast policy incubator, training a new generation of tech policy entrepreneurs. We take tech experts, teach them the policy process through an in-residence fellowship program in the Bay Area, and encourage them to develop outside-the-box solutions to society’s problems. We model ourselves after tech incubators like Y-Combinator, but train new policy thinkers and focus the impact of their ideas. Engages with broader Stanford cybersecurity community; Investigated state-federal policy, and developed manuscript on homeland radicalization as postdoctoral fellow.

Provides strategic and operations advice to early stage security startup; builds and curates go-to-market strategy and hiring activity

Drafts briefs and assists criminal defense attorney in preparation for oral argument. Identified legal argument and drafted brief to get conviction overturned on appeal.

Developed strategy and executed development of $15 million cybersecurity organization. Manages team of 8 full and part-time staff; research agenda; and budget, personnel, administration, events, and communications. Convened executive directors' working group of 60 campus directors. Raised $1 million in additional programming funds.Published a half-dozen research reports, and in the New York Times and Bulletin of Atomic Scientists. Held events with the White House, the FBI, the LA2028 Olympic Bid, the World Economic Forum, and the Carnegie Endowment. Obtained and renovated 2,000 sq. ft. space.

Drafted briefs and prepared Deputy General Counsel for oral argument. Managed drafting and review of regulations.

Drafted statutory text and policy documents. Implemented projects on cybersecurity, immigration, and disaster resilience.

Information Society Project Fellow

Wrote bench memos and opinions on civil and criminal cases, including several on internet fraud.

Created and designed position for the (then) Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project. Organized and managed ten chapters to advocate for policy reform.

Assisted UK Prime Minister Strategy Unit on confidential project. Managed and evaluated grants for Atlantic Philanthropies. Contributed to and edited Managing Economic Migration in the ECA Region (World Bank, Feb. 2007). Wrote reports for Center on Migration Policy and Society (Oxford) and Oxford Analytica. Managed Dublin City Council project.

Published over a dozen monographs and articles. Managed projects for foundations and UNHCR. Organized five conferences and edited three books. Appeared on C-SPAN and was cited in numerous print publications.
