I manage a team of writers between Barcelona and Portland, OR. We contribute to and maintain docs.newrelic.com, which gets over 1 million page views per month. Those page views come from thousands of New Relic users looking for API attributes from our data dictionary, conceptual information, tutorials, troubleshooting info, configuration options, and countless other pieces of information that we provide. I specialize in content strategy (from an entire site information architecture, down to specific word choices in a sentence). The words we use and the way we present information can greatly affect the user experience, and I'm committed to improve user experiences wherever we can. I'm experienced in managing an agile, international, and growing team during times of high stress and delivery. I believe in forming deep connections with those on my team, and all the other teams we support (Design, Engineering, Tech Support, Marketing, Product Management, and everyone in between).

Writing docs for docs.newrelic.com and parts of our product's UI. Collaborating with SMEs to make sure we have thorough docs that get our users all the information they need, as efficiently as possible. Also focusing on how my team can be more efficient as a group, by acting as Scrum Master for all of our agile processes. We're a small team that supports a lot of content, so appropriately scoping and negotiating our deliverables is key. I've led writing trainings and workshops, focused on coaching colleagues how to write more approachable language. Negotiating with other teams about content, depth, and deadlines. Making sure we get great starter content from our SMEs lets our work as Tech Writers shine, and provides much more complete docs for our customers.

Plan and scope work for large writing projects and feature releases. Work directly with Product Managers to ensure that sets of docs serve all customers using new features, so that they can love your products faster. Negotiate timelines, deliverables, and documentation needs. Mentor other writers, focusing on how to write approachable and inspiring language for complex features.

Create, edit, and maintain everything at docs.newrelic.com. Work directly with internal stakeholders to create documentation to help users navigate all of our products. This ranges from tutorials, installation, configuration, API reference, troubleshooting, marketing materials, and everything in-between.
