About Betsy (Anderton) Tipton
I earned my Ph.D. in Instructional Design from the University of South Alabama and a Bachelor in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Birmingham-Southern College. I have been teaching and designing online courses for over 17 years. I have designed course content in a variety of areas, mainly in healthcare and education. My experience teaching children and adults extends to both the national and international setting. My research focus has been concentrated in the area of online learning and developing student skills and motivations to succeed in the online environment. In the future, I plan to focus on the benefits of using Mobile technologies to deliver content. I am also interested in issues centering on course redesign as a way to decrease the cost of learning while not reducing the quality. Finally, I am interested in the rapid design and deployment of online faculty and staff training programs.
