American Hospital Association's Speakers Express represented speakers with expertise in a broad array of topics that are of interest and value to healthcare organizations and associations. It was my privilege to provide keynotes, workshops and facilitation on topics including philanthropy, board governance and leadership issues through Speakers Express. // Speakers Express was disbanded by AHA in 2021.

Third Sector Strategy is a healthcare philanthropy training and consulting firm focused on building an organizational culture for high performance philanthropy and on the aligned and impactful engagement of key organizational advocates including healthcare executives, board members and physicians. Third Sector Strategy serves healthcare organizations including health systems, hospitals, rural health, long-term care and hospice. (Rebranded and expanded scope of the firm to become Accordant.)

Led the foundations for an integrated health system including an 800-bed academic medical center affiliated with U of Tennessee, a children's hospital and community hospitals. During my tenure, the number of donors participating annually increased 700+%, the number of donors giving $1,000 or more increased 1,000%. Annual giving increased 250+%. Additionally, 18 of the 20 largest gifts received since the foundation was started in 1985 were secured during my tenure despite 2008 recession. The division also included a volunteer services department with 223 volunteers serving 20,000 hours annually.(Left to pursue the speaking, writing and consulting I am passionate about full time.)

Re-started dormant foundation; rebuilt infrastructure. Led external/internal relations for hospital. Spearheaded re-branding to achieve updated and cohesive image. Instigated and led efforts to improve patient satisfaction; scores increased 41 percentile points in 10 months. Received advertising awards for new magazine, website redesign, billboards and print ads. (Had premature twins February 2005; what a pleasure to be home to care for two special little girls!)

Became first foundation executive for 765-bed, five hospital system in Fayetteville, North Carolina, with a $900M+ budget. Created foundation program; created infrastructure.(Left after getting married in December 2000 to return to our mutual hometown of Chattanooga, TN.)

Led philanthropy and volunteer services for 400-bed, two hospital system that is part of Catholic Health Initiatives. Built fund development program. Increased volunteer service 52% to 71,000 hours served annually. Spearheaded award-winning outreach initiative funded by The Commonwealth Fund.(Left to pursue a new opportunity.)
