As the Vice President of Corporate Development, I oversee and integrate SSOE’s organic and inorganic growth functions, including Mergers & Acquisitions, Marketing, and Business Development. I have direct involvement in our acquisition efforts—establishing and executing the overall program as well as success strategies for individual deals. With a background in marketing, my passion has always been finding the unique value we bring to clients and presenting it in a compelling manner. In my current role, I uncover and convey the unique value SSOE and our acquisition targets can create together and the growth opportunities we can bring to their business and staff.

In order to drive revenue growth, my responsibilities have expanded to include oversight of the account management function at SSOE, while maintaining my marketing role. In this position I have been responsible for developing the criteria for strategic accounts at SSOE, outlining account plan templates to drive strategic thinking, organizing training for account managers, and the development of a career path and associated role and job descriptions for account managers. I also sit on the steering committee of the account management Community of Practice and have assisted this group with developing and executing round tables for the account management community at SSOE. As a firm that relies on seller-doers, I view my role in marketing and communications as equipping our sellers and AMs and this additional role as assisting them in strategy development. I am currently developing an “AEC Change Program” that aims to educate our account managers in the future of the AEC industry. This will allow them to take these trends to clients and identify opportunities to partner in developing customized solutions that create a strategic advantage.

I set the vision for the marketing organization at SSOE and provide oversight of the proposal process, marketing communication functions, corporate / internal communications, public relations, and account management. One of my favorite roles in this position is people development, and the ability to see people continue to grow in their knowledge of the complex and diverse market we serve. This position has also given me the chance to be involved in a number of corporate initiatives. I'm particularly proud of my role in a multi-year change initiative aimed at bringing SSOE's corporate culture into alignment with our strategy. I enjoy the role we play in facilitating corporate communications. As a growing and geographically diverse firm, ensuring we're consistently and accurately educating our employees, who often act as seller-doers is critical. Account management has been an area of growth for me as my duties have expanded to include account strategy, account plan reviews, developing account plan templates, and facilitating training for account managers.

As Marketing Business Leader I oversee the marketing communications, PR, research and client feedback functions. This includes items such as marketing campaign development, direct mail, collateral, the website, brand standards, templates, press releases, article placement, media relations, and internal communications. As a Business Leader I play a role in setting the overall vision for the marketing function and, to an extent, have ownership of building and shaping the SSOE brand.

Marketing communications, PR, research, and systems. Manage marketing team and outside agencies responsible for overall corporate messaging, brand management, public relations, website, direct mail, surveys, boilerplate, white papers, graphic design, advertisements, brochures, trade shows, and documentation of all marketing processes. I also manage the research and systems functions of the marketing group--with a focus on customer feedback (including customer satisfaction and brand perception surveys).

B2B corporate communications. Responsible for company-wide public relations, brochures, direct mail campaigns, advertisements to diverse markets such as healthcare, retail, and industrial as well as employment branding.
