I am a Hospitality Industry Lifer. You know the type…we speak our own language, we have our own timetables, our offices never truly close, we are passionate about customer service, we hold doors open for people at the gas station, we pick up trash in random parking lots when we see it, we are never truly off duty. Even on vacation, we’re checking out the hotels in which we stay for new ideas to bring back to our own hotels. We generously tip the room cleaners, because we know first-hand what a difficult, yet thankless job they have. We say “My Pleasure” instead of “No Problem” I am proud to describe myself as a Lifer. Starting at my first hotel as a GSR, I had absolutely no idea that I had found my career calling. Over time, I have held several positions in many different segments of the industry, including Revenue Management, Sales and Front Office Operations. I am still wildly enthusiastic about focusing on the optimization and growth of top line revenue – for me, there is no bigger rush than knowing that a property has exceeded their top line budget and dozens of managers and associates have earned their bonuses that quarter.
