I work hard to make my clients' communications polished and professional. I write content for and provide editorial services for education, nonprofit, publishing, and journalism clients, and authors.

I create and implement communications and grant strategy for nonprofits. I train board members, staff, and key volunteers on consistent messaging, and develop continuing education curriculum around nonprofit communications. I make recommendations on strategic grant funding. I research new funding possibilities and execute grant writing campaigns for clients. I also manage public relations campaigns, including for crisis communication, for nonprofit organizations.

Provided counsel on planning, strategy, prioritization, and execution of all church communications with emphasis on ensuring accuracy, consistency and clarity, while maintaining brand standards. Was responsible for the design, editing, writing, and production as related to email communications, social media content, website maintenance, mailings, and other printed materials. Provided communications support to clergy, program directors, and ministries. Advised on communications for outreach and events.

I worked with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and volunteers to tell Roswell High School’s story and ensure branding consistency. I assisted administration with crisis communication and managed several social media platforms. I pitched story ideas to media, and planned and executed communications for school events. I ensured that communication objectives in school strategic plan are met.

I taught high school literature and composition to high school students at an Atlanta-area hybrid school.

Created press releases for CTA Digital, a gaming software company, as new products are developed.

Business communication, writing coaching, book editing and resume writing.

Generated topics, collected information, wrote targeted articles and publicity pieces for alumnae magazine; employee, alumnae and parent newsletters; web site; and other publications. Worked with a team to revamp all academic web sites for consistency in text and design as part of a plan to recruit students via the college web site. Responded to media inquiries and accompanied reporters during visits to campus.

Assisted attorneys with daily procedures. Prepared documents. Interacted with clients, realtors, lenders, brokers, bankers, insurance companies and other attorneys. Proofread correspondence. Conducted an average of 50 title examinations per month and performed other legal research. Represented the firm at monthly meetings of the National Association of Professional Mortgage Women. Assisted with post-closing duties of ordering wired funds, disbursing funds and paying off mortgages. Worked quickly and efficiently to ensure that the firm closed as many loans as possible.

Attended town council meetings and covered issues such as the landfill, zoning, budget issues, and parks and recreation. Established rapport with mayor, town commissioners and town employees. Produced at least one story following each board meeting under a very tight deadline.

Organized and scheduled photo shoots. Worked as a team with editor, publisher, photographers and other staff writers. Was a general assignment reporter, but also covered beats such as religion, education, children, and senior citizens.
