Bette Cooper has over 30 years of experience as a marketing communications specialist, professional trade association owner and president, business manager and event manager.Currently Bette is Event & Programs Manager for tinyML Foundation, LLC, a machine learning association.Prior to tinyML Bette was also co-owner and president of the Microelectronics Packaging and Test Engineering Council (MEPTEC), a trade association for the semiconductor packaging industry. She took over the organization in 1996 after working for the former owners. As president of MEPTEC, Bette was responsible for overseeing all event programs (working with an Advisory Board), facilitating event committee meetings, negotiating with event facilities, coordination of speakers, organization of exhibits, managing registration, and on-site event facilitation and management. In addition to events, Bette was the editor of the MEPTEC Report, a 32-36 page association newsletter that is distributed to thousands of professionals annually. As editor she solicits contributors for articles and edits all articles. She retired from MEPTEC in 2022 to work for the tinyML Foundation.From 1996 – 2004, concurrent with running MEPTEC, Bette was the Business Manager on a contract basis for the Semiconductor Assembly Council (SAC), a non-profit technical association. SAC was founded in 1991 by the Big Three automakers, and comprised of semiconductor manufacturers, assembly/test subcontractors and end-user companies established to standardize, certify, and improve subcontractor quality systems and process control practices. Her duties comprised of organizing two conferences year as well as managing the business operations, including budget, membership management, etc. In 2004 the association was reorganized and eventually folded because its original mission was accomplished.
