Responsible for technical leadership and management of a small, hard-charging flight sciences team supporting hypersonic vehicle programs with aerodynamic and aerothermal analysis, aero database development, performance analysis and 6-DOF simulation support.Key projects:- Leading flight sciences team through multiple rounds of independent expert review for aerodynamics, aerothermodynamics and performance modeling, culminating in successful first flight of Talon-A vehicle.- Guiding integration of CFD, wind tunnel data, handbook methods and flight test data into high fidelity simulation models supporting 6-DOF flight simulation of both free-flight and store separation of hypersonic vehicles.- Coordinating the planning and execution of low-speed, transonic, supersonic and hypersonic wind tunnel test campaigns.- Leading team responsible for design and execution of performance trade studies helping to inform system design choices for hypersonic vehicles.- Developing trajectory optimization workflow and modeling practices as well as training process for engineers joining performance team.

As the lead flight sciences engineer for the Vulcan conservation drones program I was responsible for the development of a low-cost, high endurance electric VTOL drone intended to extend the reach and capability of park rangers in Africa and around the world by giving them an eye in the sky. Key Projects Include:- Leading the development of a prototype VTOL hybrid aircraft to burn down control system risk. The aircraft went from a sketch on paper to transitioning flight in a span of four months.- Optimizing the configuration and propulsion system for an electric VTOL aircraft to achieve industry leading flight duration at a fraction of the price of competitor systems.

Responsible for conceptual design, trajectory optimization and performance estimates for Stratolaunch internally developed launch vehicles. In this role, I worked across engineering disciplines to put together launch systems with compelling capabilities and costs.Key projects:- Conceptual design of the "Black Ice" reusable spaceplane. Bringing together propulsion, structures, aerodynamics, thermal protection and controls groups to create a viable reusable launch vehicle option.- Conceptual design of a mid-market expendable launch vehicle that emphasized rapid development time and low cost over raw performance.

Responsible for writing, validating and maintaining the proprietary analysis software that gives TLG the same capabilities as the major airframe manufacturers. Key Projects:- Developed custom visualization software that allows the user to interact with aeroelastic analysis models more easily than in commercially available codes.- Developed software to filter, slice and visualize data from millions of flight load cases to rapidly create actionable insights.- Deployed job scheduling software on TLG computer clusters in order to maximize company resource utilization.- Developed custom software that rapidly created distributed aircraft loads databases from high resolution CFD meshes for a major airframe manufacturer.

As an early member of the TLG team, I had the opportunity to grow with the company and contributed to projects ranging from supplemental type certificate modifications to clean sheet designs. Key Projects:- FAA certification level flutter analysis in support of multiple winglet modification programs.- FAA certification level static and dynamic aeroelastic loads analysis in support of multiple winglet modification programs.- Providing on-site engineering assistance to TLG customers around the world.- Developing a buffet load warning system for a prime defense contractor.

My work at Analytical Methods included CFD analysis of aircraft modifications and original designs as well as developing plant models to support simulations of customer vehicles.Key Projects:- Creating a 6-DOF flight simulator in support of crash investigation work.- Development of aerodynamic database for a supersonic business jet.- Fusing wind tunnel and CFD data to create plant model of supersonic target drone.
