I am a multi-tasker, ADHD leader who is best in a crisis. All of this makes me a good trial attorney, with a talent for being able to be dynamic and flexible, which so far has lent itself extremely well to criminal defense. I can't remember the last time my partner Ben Blackburn and/or I have lost in trial.Every battle I am thrust into as a criminal defense attorney I am supposed to lose, and yet I am able to continually find ways to win and bring value to my clients. This race for Travis Coutny DA is no different. From some telling of it, I don't stand a snowball's chance in hell of winning, and to me that sounds like a challenge. I thrive on challenges, and frankly, our current DA has made my job too easy. It won't be easy to win, but the people of Travis County need a leader who is willing to put civics before self and I intend to be that leader.I have always found myself in leadership positions. My most valuable skill is empathy, which is key to unlocking the potential of every person working with me. I aim to be a force multiplier to all of the talents that my team already has, not a micromanager. This is exactly what the DA's office needs in order to rebuild after the havoc and devastation wrought by Jose Garza. We need DA's empowered to do their jobs and uphold the oath they swore to do justice, not DA's fraught with the moral injury that their current bosses repeatedly inflict on them for cynical political purposes.
