As a Linux System Administrator, I ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency of enterprise server infrastructure by installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux-based operating systems using VMware's ESXi. I utilize Kickstart files, images, and OVF templates for automated and consistent deployment of RHEL and CentOS servers. I manage VMware environments, optimize resource utilization, and address storage needs by managing physical volumes, volume groups, and logical volumes.My role involves maintaining access control and security, creating and managing user accounts, enforcing password policies, and monitoring login logs for potential security threats. I conduct routine maintenance, including updates, backups, and patch management, using Yum repository management and client configuration. I also conduct regular vulnerability scans and assessments and ensure immediate remediation.I proactively monitor system performance using CLI tools and Nagios, address potential issues, and ensure optimal system health. Additionally, I deploy automation scripts using Bash and Ansible to streamline tasks, and document infrastructure components to maintain system scalability and adherence to standards.
