Dr. Betty L. Sullivan is an independent consultant (media & public relations, community education, non-profit management) and entrepreneur. She serves as founder & editor of "Betty's List" (www.bettyslist.com), an online and e-mail information service for the SF Bay Area's LGBT community. She is co-founder and president of Use The News Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to resource development on the use of media in education. A key goal of media education is to develop research and critical thinking skills needed in order to use media as a tool for obtaining information one needs to be in control of her/his own life.
