Provides first-line management and administrative support to the Vice-Chancellor and to the Senior Management Team. Takes a leading role in ensuring the effective and efficient running of the University’s Executiveand supports the structure of decision-making, the implementation of decisions and monitoring ofsubsequent progress. Developing strong networks and relationships internal and external to the University supporting regional, national and international links. Ensuring that the team provide effective support to the Registrar, Director of Infrastructure Investment and 2 Pro Vice-Chancellors in their duties on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor. Direct support in assisting and supporting the Vice-Chancellor in working with the most senior leaders in the University (PVC Deans, Directors, etc.),Developing deep and credible working relationships with key colleagues across the University.Maintaining up to date knowledge of University procedures, processes, and current initiatives,projects and issues, particularly those relevant to the Vice-Chancellor.Organisation of high level visitors to the University including members of the Royal Family, HMGovernment and other significant public figures and/or dignitariesThe principal point of contact with the Chancellor including; dealing with correspondence,responding where appropriate, planning and organising all University meetings and events for theChancellor, making arrangements for the Chancellors lecture and briefing her in advance of hervisits.FOI co-ordinator for SMT, providing information to and liaising with FOI Officer to ensure timelyresponse to all requestsResponsible for the financial systems within the Vice-Chancellor’s offices approving spend andmonitoring projects/budgets as required. Delegating tasks as appropriate.Responsible for recording any complaints that are received by the Vice-Chancellors office andthat these are addressed and responded to promptly
