Build support for utility-scale renewable energy projects in North America through a variety of strategies, including community outreach, education, public relations, and social investments.

Working directly with community members in a small rural town on the coast of Ecuador, significant accomplishments included leading over 50 people in the development and successful completion of a USAID-funded project to construct ecological dry toilets for families lacking adequate sanitation; designing and implementing small community projects such as organic fertilizer production, family gardens, recycling workshops and beach cleanups; teaching English to over 120 fifth, sixth and seventh graders in the local public school; and conducting a detailed community diagnostic to assess the community’s necessities, interests, threats and resources as they relate to the goals and objectives of Peace Corps’ Natural Resources Conservation program.

As the only full-time employee dedicated to River Network's new "Saving Water, Saving Energy" climate change program, primary tasks included program development, research, analysis, education and outreach as part of a national effort to help grassroots river and watershed groups engage policy makers, water utilities and the general public in order to address climate change through a better understanding of the connections between water and energy.
