My father was a carpenter, and I spent my younger years with mud on my boots learning from the ground up how to build the world around me.At 18 I was already working on construction sites, making friends and understanding the value of connecting with those who do tough jobs to build big dreams.After ten years of practical experience on site, I was supported by RCP to study, graduating from Wellington’s Victoria University with a Bachelor of Building Science.Soon I was swapping work boots for white shirts, and during more than ten years at RCP I have worked my way from project manager to associate director, managing a diverse team of 38 staff. This leadership role has enabled me to cultivate an environment where innovation and collaboration flourish.My team and I are devoted to pushing the envelope, constantly seeking to merge environmentally responsible practices with aesthetic appeal.In my career I have progressed from hands-on construction experiences to leading complex projects.I have led the due diligence, feasibility, and development phases for several large-scale building projects.I provided the design and delivery management for the first base-isolated apartment building in New Zealand’s capital, setting a new standard for earthquake resilience.And I have been instrumental in managing the redevelopment of office buildings including seismic upgrades, heritage rebuilds and high-quality internal fitouts.Outside my professional obligations, I find joy and fulfilment in contributing to the community, such as being a marriage celebrant and coaching children’s rugby and swimming. I’m never happier than when engaging deeply in the lives of others, forging relationships that transcend my professional life.
