Stray Along The Way started as a means to document my wife and my extended road trip around South Africa in 2016. Being an English Second Language teacher in Taiwan, has been an incredible challenge and a very stretching experience. Not only has the complete change of culture, language and scenery been an exciting endeavor, but learning to teach young children from 4-14 years old has been an immensely rewarding exercise as well.Living in a foreign country has given me a wider perspective and a fuller world view. Also, working with foreign language children has helped me hone my teaching skills and learn to present ideas and concepts in simple, easy to understand ways that are fun and engaging.

In this position, I managed the Internet Marketing and Advertising division of Nologo Studios. We helped clients with their social media advertising, search engine marketing, SEO and web analytics.

I started this position primarily to develop an online booking platform for the travel and tourism industry.While working on the project, I was involved in project and account management for some of the company's other clients, which revolved mainly around web and application development.The main responsibilities for this position included: Client-level specification documentationProject coordination with the development teamAccount managementTesting and revertingClient training and additional features.

As a photography lecturer, it was my responsibility to prepare lesson material, present classroom lectures as well as coordinate extra-mural excursions, assignments and activities.Teaching students at a tertiary institution was a great way to engage with young, interested students who were eager to learn and always willing to participate. I thoroughly enjoyed the class interaction and practical lesson demonstrations and relished the opportunity to share my knowledge and experience for the benefit of the studens.

In this position I was tasked with tour guiding, on-the-ground operations coordination as well as surf coaching through live lessons and video feedback sessions.Trips ranged from between 6-10 week expeditions cross-country, with guests learning to surf along the way. Some of my other responsibilities included attending to any emergency situations and updating a weekly video blog of the tour.

My main role in this position was tour guide and operations coordinator for large groups of foreign, overland travelers (mainly from Europe and the USA).Tours ranged from short weekend excursions to months-long expeditions across various land borders around southern and eastern Africa.I really enjoyed the challenge of navigating the many obstacles that life on the road presented as well as the opportunity to teach and share with my guests the lessons and stories that each of our destinations had to offer.
