Serve as part of the project team to support a clinically driven philosophy, enabled by IT. In this role, the key focus is working with project leadership, clinical stakeholders, and other members of the project team to identify requirements, scope, current/future state and process reengineering. Identify solution options and design, and potential barriers. Manage educational curriculum for use of respiratory services and equipment operation for staff, partners, and patients. Serve as subject matter expert for complex respiratory therapy issues. Provide hands-on training and monitoring of equipment use. Communicate program goals to all staff. Ensure program director and student respiratory therapists remain informed on rules and regulations, and enforce policies as need arises. Apprise management and medical teams of administrative matters and technical issues. Head clinical application and development of respiratory care services in collaboration with MDs and other healthcare professionals. Managed planning for 12-hour night shift staffing and operations for respiratory services. Oversaw setup and operation of devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators following specified parameters of treatment. Provided emergency care including artificial respiration, external cardiac massage, and assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Determined requirements for treatment, such as type, method, and duration of therapy, precautions to be taken, and medication and dosages compatible with physicians' orders.
