As Vice President/General Counsel for WGL Holdings, Inc. and Washington Gas, I had overall responsibility for the legal affairs of the company. The primary areas of law included corporate, governance, compliance, labor, regulatory, human resources and general business matters. I reported directly to the CEO/Chair of the Board of Directors and regularly interacted with the Board of Directors and other company senior leaders. I supervised the Corporate Secretary/Chief Governance Officer, the Compliance Officer and other senior attorneys responsible for carrying out the legal work of the company.

Had progressive responsibility within the legal office of the District of Columbia government, including litigation and trials, appellate advocacy, Special Counsel and leader of the Criminal Division.
