Having spent the last 17 years in public media in sales, sales management and consulting, I now am fortunate to work with a number of stations in helping them build their corporate support programs. BirdNote is a two minute audio story about birds and the environment. Started in 2004 by Seattle Audubon and heard only on 88.5, BirdNote now reaches over 1.2 people each week on over 200 public radio outlets in the United States and Canada. Sponsorship of BirdNote on the radio and BirdNote podcasts are a great way to reach a dedicated and influential group of fans. Since 1970, the United States has lost over 3 billion birds. BirdNote helps draw attention to easy things anyone can do to protect birds. Birdnote episodes can be heard at birdnote.org. Please spend two minutes and listen to one!

Greater Seattle Area

Greater Public is a non-profit company that works with member public media outlets to increase revenue through Corporate Support, Member Donations, Grants and Major Gifts. I am one of two Corporate Support Advisers for Greater Public, which allows me to interface with my favorite kinds of people- sales people! I also work with individual public media outlets- helping them with their Corporate Support departments; analyzing systems, coaching reps and managers and providing insights into best practices industry wide. I am based in the Pacific Northwest, specifically on a small island north of Seattle. Whenever we can we are outside- camping, sailing and working in the garden.

KNHC is better known as C89.5- Seattle's Home for Dance! Located at Nathan Hale High School, C89.5 has been helping students learn real life lessons in responsibility, leadership and team work. In 2012 I was hired to start a corporate support program at the station in order to grow capacity and opportunity. I designed the program and then implemented it, growing the department to over $550,000 in annual revenue in the 4 1/2 years I was there. It was an amazing experience to work with a small dedicated team of professionals and the students that make the station so special.

Moving into the Sales Management role at KPLU was an extremely rewarding role for me. In the time I was there I was fortunate to hire three amazing sales reps who helped us grow revenue by over 50% in four years. I am proud to have implemented KPLU's School of Jazz, which has been a legacy educational program for area jazz students. My team and I also created several innovative programs to attract new sponsors even in down times such as the financial crisis of 2008. I will always be grateful for my time working for Market Enginuity which taught me so much about sales management and the importance of systems.
