First Assisted GI doctors with colonoscopies and upper endoscopes m-f. All scopes had their own number for easy tracking if something happen. Set up scopes in procedure room, gloves for physician, 4x4's and specimen cup for biopsies. Used Endo Gator that connects to tubing and the scope so the physician could irrigate through the scope to remove residual. Removed polyps, cancers, took hot & cold biopsies, packaged & sterilized reusable forceps, washed and disinfected flexible endoscopes by SGNA guidelines. Used AER'S (automatic endoscope repressors) and the system 83 very similar to the ( AER ). Knowledge of the use of clips( used clips on bleeders or larger polyps from cautery) we used India Ink as well to mark different area of the colon or stomach the needed to be seen by a surgeon or ct scan it can last up to several years. Used cautery, snares( for polyp removal ) , used OPA for disinfecting the scopes in the AER's and used Enzypure for pre- washing the scopes. Used Savory dilators and balloon dilators to stretch the esophagus. Worked out in recovery and took out IV's and did vital signs, rectal tubes and charting vitals and The IV input. Took patients out to be discharged.

Assisted with wound care, vital signs, height & weights, feeding patients, cpr certified , bathing , brushing teeth, changing and making beds occupied and non occupied beds, taking care of patients on ventilators , charting on patients, recorded intake & output, properly took care of ones that had passed away. Held the hands of ones passing/ stayed with their families for support.
