I joined Food Arts in 1990 as a senior editor, moved up to managing editor and finally to executive editor in 1998 where I stayed until the magazine closed in September 2014. I assigned and scheduled articles and digital content with an in-house editorial staff as well as over 50 freelance writers, photographers, and illustrators both in the United States and abroad to obtain the most up-to-the- minute coverage of industry events and trends for both print and online. I expanded our stable of writers, many of whom were winners of James Beard Journalism, Association of Food Journalists, and Folio Eddie B to B awards. I participated in the development of FoodArts.com and a weekly e-newsletter called Dish & Dishes and contributed content to both.I helped develop industry conference programs, recruit speakers, and moderate panel discussions for The Greystone Flavor Summit co-presented by the Culinary Institute of America and Food Arts for six years and for Eat Drink SF (formerly SF Chefs) sponsored by the Northern California Restaurant Association for four years.

I developed and wrote a nationally syndicated bi-weekly column called Options reflecting the many choices that became available to women at that time.It appeared in the Daily News, the Los Angeles Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Philadelphia Inquirer and others reaching well over a million readers. I won the Women in Communications Matrix Award in 1985. I also covered lifestyles, travel, and food.
