In November of 2019, Milacron was acquired by Hillenbrand and I became an employee of Hillenbrand. In addition to maintaining all of the roles I previously did at Milacron (International, federal, state, and local corporate tax compliance, tax provision, BEPS/Transfer Pricing, audits, etc.), I've also taken on a few additional roles such as heavy participation in legal entity restructuring, DAC6, implementation of Milacron into Hillenbrand, and Onesource software implementation (since Hillenbrand tax was using a different software).

During my time at Milacron I worked on the international, federal, and state and local tax compliance for the corporations and LLCs within our global company. I reviewed the original and amended returns and electronically filed them with the respective tax agencies, handled tax notices, audits, sales tax, property tax, fbar filings, and other miscellaneous tax items. The role required that I work with various taxing agencies frequently. Although I have other tax software experience, at Milacron we mainly utilized Onesource products (Income Tax, Tax Provision, Workflow Manager), Microsoft Office, and Outlook.Within my role at Milacron, I was afforded the opportunity to participate in many special projects related to restructuring/tax planning ideas and implementation.I also focused on transfer pricing and Base Erosion & Profit Shifting (BEPS) documentation requirements. I completely oversaw the documentation for all of our jurisdictions (country by country report, notifications, master file, & local files). Considering Milacron’s global foot print there were over 250 different moving parts to track so it demanded a significant amount of my time and focus. As jurisdictions around the world updated their agreements and requirements, I kept a close watch on it daily.Another main part of my job at Milacron was overseeing the domestic and international tax provision. In this role I became familiar with accounting for income taxes and all the nuances that come with navigating this ever-changing area of tax. To me, accounting for income taxes has become one of the most exciting but challenging areas post tax reform.

During my time at Deloitte Tax, LLP I served as a tax consultant on the Multi-State Tax Services team.I handled corporate and partnership clients who required state and local tax filings throughout the United States. This included preparing/reviewing their state and local tax original and amended returns, electronically filing state and local tax returns when necessary, and working extensively with excel spreadsheets to aid in calculation of tax computations. This role required me to be skilled in several different types of software such as Gosystems RS, Corptax, Microsoft Office, and Superforms. Additionally, I was a key member in rolling out internally developed software specializing in account management and data storage.Throughout the year I also handled state tax notices, tax consulting, and other miscellaneous items related to maintaining my client accounts. This enabled me to interact with clients and state and local tax departments frequently.Within the firm I enjoy participating in extra-curricular activities such as volunteering annually on "Impact Day."
