About Beverly Brewer
Beginning as a Senior Sales Assistant at Walker & Associates. It was there that I got my first chance to work in the technology industry. I transferred to the IT department as a Help Desk Analyst. It was there that I also got my start in management, quickly learning to manage work & time, not people. Walker provided all the training an employee needed to be sucessful and then empowered you to use that training to get the job done.That position grew to Help Desk Manager/Corporate PC Trainer. Duties running concurrently were PeopleSoft Security administrator and content manager for the website. Walker was forced to dismantle the Help Desk, thus it was time to move on. I accepted a freelance position for the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, marketing a H1B Grant. Once this program was finished I accepted a fulltime position with Greensboro Economic Development Alliance. There I started as business retention manager, then worked as attractions manager while doing research and web design and content management for the group. Because of a reorganization of the economic entities in Greensboro, the Greensboro Partnership was formed and the Greensboro Chamber, Greensboro Economic Development Alliance and Action Greensboro were all made entities of the Partnership. That reorg resulted in my role changing to support the Partnership, Chamber and the Alliance. Thus I am the Website manager for all three organizations as well as providing business intelligence & marketing research services along with information technology support for the organizations. While it is a challenging position because of the structure, it is quite fullfilling as I get to work in the technology and web industry while also being a part of the economic development industry. Transferring my skills to match this position over time was quite a suprise. As a result, I have quite a fullfilling job. I admit to keep up, I have to do a lot of JIT training.Specialties: IT professional that transitioned PC support skills to work in a not for profit economic development arena. Web site development & content management using Dreamweaver, CSS, HTML. Research using various resources such as Demographics Now, Hoovers, Selectory. Microsoft Office, photoshop, flash and various other applications. PC Support, pc troubleshooting & problem resolution, web project/content management, Dreamweaver, CSS. By the way I am a die hard Nascar fan...#88 for sure!!!
