Beverly Tarpley Lorig is a TBA. Colleagues describe her as "I have had the pleasure of working with Beverly over the course of the last 10 or so years in varying capacities from my serving as the President of the Washington & Lee community within the New York Metro Area to most recently representing the University on two Boards. I am continuously astounded by Beverly's forthright pragmatism and ability to organize chaos. Beverly and I were chosen (she probably chose) to tackle the challenging issue of addressing job change amongst more experienced Alumni and in partnership with the Head of Alumni Affairs, Beverly has spearheaded a number of creative means to use existing technology to advocate and highlight the skills of Alumni evaluating new directions. The initial deliverables of this initiative have been extremely well received and we are continuing to broaden the awareness of these programs through the Alumni that have historically been beyond the focus of Career Services. Beverly tackles change in the manner with which she advocates to upcoming and recent graduates, head-on and with aplomb. I feel secure in declaring that she is a tremendous asset to Washington & Lee University and is someone in addition to the fine professors and other faculty/ staff for which many a graduate looks back to appreciate her impact on their introduction to life after college." and "I have had the pleasure of working with Beverly through two associations. The first is the Selective Liberal Arts Consortium (SLAC) - a group of thirteen colleges who pool their resources to provide quality employers access to top-notch undergraduate candidates for entry-level positions. It was here that I was first introduced to Beverly's high energy and good-natured spirit. More recently, we work closely on the Board of Directors for the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers (EACE). This board role has allowed me to see Beverly utilize this energy and spirit and channel it into strong managerial qualities, drive, and goals. As Director of Public Relations and Communication, Beverly spear-headed a board initiative, taking it from an idea and seeing it through to it's final phases. Her role on the board has been highly respected, and she's been asked to remain on for an additional year to fill a vacancy as Director of Membership Recruitment and Retention. Beverly has vision and a thoughtful patience that is welcoming, and I would strongly recommend her in any office or environment."
