The Springfield Empowerment Zone Partnership (SEZP) is a non profit partnership organization. It is engaged in the development/delivery of strategy, policies, performance criteria, oversight, progress reviews, outcome evalution and the successful exection of approved operational change plans specific to drastically improving the education experience in 8 underperforming Middle schools in the Springfield Public School District The goal is to dramatically improve the educational performance of and opportunities for Springfield students through a partnership arrangement that engages all stakeholders..

October 2011, the MA Board of Elementary and Secondary Education elected Beverly Holmes to the postion of Vice Chair. She also Chairs the Charter School committee.
