The acquisition brings together the leaders of wearable and video technology, the two key technology pillars in elite club environments, strengthening Catapult’s strategic positioning and operational platform to accelerate its expansion globally. Acquired PLAYERTEK, a leading developer of wearable analytics software solutions, delivering a proven commercialised low-cost solution and an expanded target market of ~20m soccer athletes across junior clubs, sub-elite and semi-professional teams. Extensive planning and development has resulted in the delivery of an exciting and innovative new product, PLAYR. Acquired the SportsMed Elite and Baseline Athlete Management System (AMS) products, clients and recruited key personnel, delivering a centralised data management system and expanding Catapult’s analytics product capabilities across multiple data sources beyond wearables data and video. Successful integration with core products and 1st sale of combined product suite to a customer within 12 months. Raised over A$145m of acquisition and organic growth funding across four equity raisings on ASX. Responsible for the structuring, marketing and execution of each transaction plus management of key investment banking / broking appointments. As head of investor relations during these transactions, I was responsible for the targeted expansion our retail and institutional investor base across Australia, US, UK and Asia.
