Working in the position of SRA I in the Phenotyping and Analytics Core department of The Mouse Biology Program to provide quality data collection in phenotyping of laboratory mice.

Maintenance of mouse colonies, collection of samples for genotyping, and weaning, aging and sexing of pups. Routinely handle live mice to perform all colony management duties, including but not limited to superovulation injections, plug checks, post-operative care, and identification and aging of new litters. Assist other vivarium personnel with laboratory duties.

Intraperitoneal injections in mice and rats; humane euthanasia via CO2 asphyxiation, decapitation, or cervical dislocation; post-operative checks and staple application/removal; basic cage assembly using Tecniplast caging system; copulatory plug checks; capable of identifying clinical signs of injury or illness in mice and rats. DNA dilutions, IVF media preparation, hormone (hCG and PMSG) preparation. Trained in basic necropsy, ovariectomy, and vasectomy procedures.
