As an educator, I have experience working with K-5 students as a classroom teacher and previously, an instructional technology resource teacher. As an instructional technology resource teacher I also had an opportunity to work with teachers and administrators, in the role of an instructional coach and professional development presenter and course designer. As a current classroom teacher, my focus has been on early childhood education in grades K-2. I have experience with early literacy and mathematics, educational technology in the K-2 classroom, developing student and community relationships, mentoring new teachers and teacher candidates, collecting and analyzing student data and teaching in a data driven environment. I enjoy implementing innovative and new ideas in the classroom to engage students in learning and to have fun teaching! I am always looking to improve my teaching practices through various professional development courses and book studies such as; blended learning, using media in the classroom and improving students' math fact fluency. My passions in education are building student and community relationships, developing independent learners, educational technology and learning new practices to improve as and educator.
