After the realization that I wasn't happy with spending my life in the stressful world of retail after 8+ years (5 years as a manager), I decided to take a 180° turn and go back to school at the ripe old age of 30. I'm currently 3 credits from acquiring my AS degree in Computer Programming and Analysis, something I've been passionate about learning since I received my first computer when I was younger.I enjoy designing, planning, and building things both in the real world and in the digital world. In my free time while being a full-time student, I've designed, planned, and remodeled basically the entirety of my home, as well as multiple free standing projects all with my own two hands(and some help from my wife). During my previous career in retail management, these skills came into play quite often with implementing new ideas and innovative ways of completing tasks.My specializations include quickly learning & applying new skills, problem solving, a keen understanding of agile methodologies, and the importance of proper coding & SDLC standards. Most of my experience so far has been with the C#, JavaScript, VB.NET programming languages, but I've dabbled in Python and Go. I also have a large amount of experience in the following frameworks: React.js, ASP.NET, Selenium, .NET core, .NET framework, node.js, and bootstrap. Very comfortable with Git and everything surrounding source control. I actively pursue new programming languages, frameworks, and methodologies in my free time implementing them in personal projects.
