Going from not having any clients to seeing your first couple Billion page views on products you designed, built, optimized and upgraded has been a fun process. At CitySpark I have been involved in every part of the development process from picking the JavaScript web framework to setting up our cloud environment to interviewing new Developers and adding them to the team.As the company is a startup I have been very hands on and wrote our primary front end products and admin back-ends used by hundreds of media outlets across the country and have stayed long enough to rebuild what didn't perform up to expectations and upgrade key pieces of our technology stack.

While at Nutraceutical I primarily worked on ASP.Net MVC 3 projects that targeted both desktop and mobile browsers. Projects that I worked on made use of jQuery, KnockoutJs and SignalR for client side interaction and integrated with multiple database backends (Sql Server, MySQL and Sybase ASE) and consumed and exposed WCF services for integrating with other application in use at Nutraceutical. While at Nutraceutical I set up and maintained their first continuous integration server and spent time profiling web application using the StackOverflow MiniProfiler and other tools to cut down response times in some scenarios by a factor of 10.

I worked as the Technical Lead on a team including 6 developers a QA Engineer and one designer. I was involved in the hiring process for new developers on the team as well as architecting and overseeing the technical aspects of the project including code review, selection of a testing framework and build server as well as choosing what development tools to use. I worked on a number of mission critical projects while at EM-Assist written primarily in C# with some of the older projects using VB.Net. One of the projects that I designed and wrote was database agnostic working with a SQL Server and Oracle back end and had a Web Services layer to allow integration with multiple systems at various DOD installations. On two occasions I also built Mobile applications using .Net CF 3.5 that made use of bar coding technologies for inventorying purposes.While at EM-Assist I set up their first continuous integration server. I automated the build process of existing EM-Assist projects including those I didn't directly work on and created an internal tool for database versioning that worked with Oracle as well as Sql Server 2000 - 2008.

While at MarketStar I helped to design and create a paperless new hire website for filling out I-9, W-4 and other new hire paperwork which involved auto generation of PDF’s, document encryption and a dynamic rule engine for custom validation of forms added by administrators. All projects that I worked on were written in C# and were created in Visual Studio. I wrote a large number of stored procedures as the DBA for the paperless new hire system mandated that all data retrieval happen via stored procedures. The projects I worked on made heavy use of Ajax along with jQuery. While at MarketStar I also imported and archived weekly worldwide sales data for Intel and created mash-up reports with the data collected by our CRM application and distributed sales teams.
