My role is to help Small and Medium Businesses (SMB) to make the best use of their existing and future technology investments. I do this by assessing current processes, staffing, and technologies, by defining strategy, building roadmaps, and implementing necessary change. I help organizations to figure out what works, what needs tweaking, and what needs to be replaced. I take a holistic approach, talking and listening to staff at all levels, learning how they see their roles and what their challenges are, and marrying these to the overall objectives of the organization.I work with the management team to provide and develop ideas for improvement, scaled to the size and capabilities of the organization. My overarching objective is to set up an organization for success over the long term.

The Masons of California is a multi-faceted organization, providing leadership to the more than 300 Masonic lodges in California, running three full scope retirement communities, providing counseling services to at risk youth, and operating a foundation that supports youth through the Masons for Mitts and the Raising a Reader programs.My role is leading a multi-disciplinary team to manage and transform the technology landscape for the Masons and its 5 subsidiary organizations. We provide services in a shared services environment that encompasses infrastructure, operations, application management, and software development. My team ensures that all Masons can manage their memberships with ease, that each of the Homes can provide services to their residents, including healthcare services, and that the counseling and outreach services can provide exceptional support to all of their clients.Our focus is on providing service first as we work to make technology accessible to everyone, including our oldest residents, some of whom are in the 100s.

Planned Parenthood focuses on providing healthcare to underserved populations. My focus was providing technology to simplify the provision of those healthcare services and ensuring the doctors and nurses I served didn’t have to worry about the technology tools they were using. I made sure there was agreement on what we used and how it was used so that day to day operations ran smoothly. I did the research necessary to ensure that the phone system we implemented could seamlessly provide dial-tone to 40+ locations and 1000 staff members, that the call center could handle call volumes regardless of outside circumstances, and that the disaster recovery program we implemented would allow us to continue operations after an earthquake, a wildfire, or any other service interruption.I did this so our doctors and nurses could focus on our patients and giving them the best service possible.

When you work for a startup you need to wear many hats. My role for SilverAir was to determine all the technology needed to get a commercial airline off the ground. Literally! Additionally there was all of the planning needed to implement that technology stack during the initial ramp-up phase.I helped compile all of that into the business plan and the financial model using my excel skills to ensure all of the numbers flowed through and balanced. I also met with potential investors to explain how we were going to make this venture a success. I was as well versed in the financials as the technology so that I could explain the plan as well as the CEO and CFO. If it needed to be done I'd do my best to ensure it happened, and that it happened correctly.

Kaiser Family Foundation informs the world on everything that’s happening in the health policy realm.My job was to make that process easier, regardless of the medium used to disseminate information. I helped determine the correct hosting platform for multiple diverse web sites. I selected and implemented the correct tools for creating, editing and distributing video content, so that our creative team could win Emmys for their work. I worked with architects and construction contractors to ensure a nine story building had everything it needed to host conferences, to broadcast audio and video media, and to ensure that there was cellular coverage to every floor of a vast Faraday cage.Who ever thought working for a major non-profit organization would be a walk in the park…

Tidal Software developed cross platform job scheduling and workload management software.My role was to ensure all of the infrastructure necessary to support this was in place and working optimally. I was very hands on, doing whatever was necessary to support a small startup, including running cable and building servers, developing a full software testing lab, researching and purchasing tools for creating software media, and running the manufacturing process as the company scaled up from 15 employees to over 70 in three locations (including India).

Trans Ocean Leasing was a global container leasing and rental company.I joined Trans ocean in an operations role, managing the container tracking, return and repair processes. I learned the software package being used and the underlying programming language so that I could build reports to simplify this management process, that were adopted worldwide. I expanded on this by learning new systems as they were introduced and developing my skills so I could support those systems across Europe, and eventually across the world by becoming the Manager of Global Support.
