The Infra & Platform Team maintains the shared resources for Analysts and BI Teams (Hadoop cluster / data lake, Oracle & Teradata databases, scheduler (Airflow), reporting tools (OBIEE, PowerBI) and various Informatica components including Powercenter, Data Quality, Analyst, PMPC, MMBG, EDC, BGM). We're committed to self-service and automation in order to ensure scalability. The platform team also creates and maintains automation tools for other scrum teams that use these tools (the KPN ETL (KETL) automation framework for BI / Big Data). Instead of developing handcrafted mappings and workflows or handcrafted SQL Code, scrum teams using KETL started writing metadata about their sources and dependency between them using macro based excel files or Django based YAML file generator. These files are used by the KETL framework to generate pattern-based Hive/Spark/Informatica/Oracle/Teradata Code along with Airflow Scheduler DAGs with schedules and dependencies as Code.Teams using KETL can now focus on data instead of tooling and leave standardisation to automation. As a product owner I'm responsible for stakeholder communication (analysts, development teams), defining sprint goals for the sprints, maintaining the backlog and determining the priority of features. As a product owner I also have an active role in ensuring the solution developed and the way of working with the KETL toolset complies to policies including those for security & GDPR compliance.
