Provide strategic leadership for a 21st century Community and STEAM Center -- a partnership of Lakeland Elementary/Middle School, Baltimore City Recreation and Parks and UMBC Sherman STEM Scholars program. LC+SC is an outgrowth of multiple partnerships that include educators, grassroots community organizations, residents, and UMBC partners who work together to design innovative programming for and with our youth, families, and community. Primary responsibilities include overseeing program development, community engaged scholarship projects, fiscal and grant management, program evaluation, partnerships, marketing, fundraising, and providing strategic vision and direction for the project.

Fellow and cohort member of program that seeks dynamic activists and social entrepreneurs interested in implementing projects that address problems in under served communities in Baltimore City. The project: Sister Neighborhood Arts Program (SNAP!) is a neighborhood level cultural organizing project that manifests the creative power of arts as catalyst for action and transformation among Northwood neighbors who want to partner across lines of difference such as neighborhood, class, generation and race. By developing a civic arts team, the project will foster community dialogue, empower youth, honor the talents of seniors, celebrate artists and situate art forms of all kinds in neighborhood and non-traditional spaces. Teach course on community cultural development in the Peace Studies Program and Theatre courses for the Goucher Prison Education Partnership to incarcerated men and woman in Jessup, MD.

Our Community Engagement department exists to promote cultural equity in Baltimore through connections to the Everyman Theatre brand, which drives relationships with unaffiliated and affiliated communities and highlights how the themes in our productions have parallel resonances in Baltimore. Our initiatives give us the capacity to reach into those communities, to weave connection in our neighborhood, to build platforms for civic dialogue, and co-curate programming with community leaders. In so doing, we will build a wider array of support for Everyman Theatre and eventually a broader and more diverse audience and set of stakeholders.

Manage MCA programs that connect arts advocates to legislators and general grassroots activism and coordination with the field, including helping to implement informational meetings around the state and constituent meetings with legislators. Apply and gather industry and policy research that impacts proposed legislation and program initiatives while also strategically planning services, professional development and networking opportunities for the arts community in Maryland. Act as lead coordinator for MCA’s signature event, Maryland Arts Day, gathering hundreds of artists, art managers and enthusiasts in Annapolis for an annual advocacy day and conference. Coordinator Maryland's only emerging leaders program in the arts called Emerging Arts Advocates.

Manage day-to-day general administrative and operational duties of Baltimore's venerable alternative theatre and presenting house. Serve as liaison to the press, artists, audiences, volunteers and community groups. Responsible for new initiatives that include offering more onsite workshops in conjunction with visiting companies, incubating local performance projects and seeking new projects for community-based performance collaborations.

Taught, produced, and directed in a small and dynamic liberal arts college. Developed community-based partnerships, international education and campus-wide curriculum initiatives for the college.

Implemented all aspects of community engagement and educational programming that supported the mission of “the nation’s foremost classical theatre.” Acted as liaison to businesses, non-profits and community organizations near the administrative offices in order to support community-based initiatives including a youth theatre program.

Served as a sabbatical replacement by teaching theatre history, seminar on applied theatre, acting and the senior capstone course for majors.

Performed in twelve productions at a fast-paced professional regional theatre. As a resident company member, worked as a carpenter and built sets for twenty-eight fully realized productions.
