Creative And Operations Manager
United States
I began as a contract employee to develop a new e-commerce website, and was asked to stay permanently because of my performance. During my tenure, I implemented and managed the modernization of many of our core operations, greatly exercising my leadership and teamworking skills.I digitally prepressed several new books and digitally remade several of our offset lithography (photographic plates) books (including our top selling title) for large outsourced print runs. I enabled us to print and bind some of our shorter books in-house and on-demand. I designed digital and print marketing materials, including twelve issues of our semiannual company catalog (mailed to a customer base of ~10,000). I am exceedingly proud of the reach and quality of my publishing work.I grew into an IT management role which eventually encompassed all hardware and software setup, training, customer service tech support, troubleshooting, and maintenance (computer workstations, printers, faxes, postage meter, etc.).I migrated the office from paper to QuickBooks electronic bookkeeping in my first year, and managed most of our accounting and reporting needs thereafter (AP/AR, payroll, benefits, bank reconciliation, taxes, etc.). I co-developed our preexisting Microsoft Access company database and migrated its capabilities into QuickBooks, streamlining inventory, financial reporting, and 501(c)(3) Form 990 preparation.I also aided in many team efforts, including our annual summer camps, board meetings and conventions, moving the office from St. Louis to Hannibal, and coordinating outsourcing projects.Software tools utilized: Windows, Linux, macOS; Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Inkscape, FontForge (font creation and editing); Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Publisher); HTML, CSS, some JavaScript, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and PHP; Joomla!, Virtuemart, some WordPress and Magento; PayPal and Authorize.net integration.
