About Bernard David

I’m a data scientist with training in STEM Education and physics, and I have a passion for creatively employing advanced quantitative frameworks to explore complex and nuanced systems. In my doctoral research, I analyzed statewide data from Texas to investigate the effects of market-based education reforms upon student achievement and performance in STEM disciplines. In addition to my research in education policy, I have initiated a range of data-driven projects, from exploring consumer behavior using data from Untappd to building a webapp that automates text simplification. I am eager to leverage the power of data science to creatively solve emergent business and social problems and to draw upon my experience as a science teacher to explain these insights in clear and concise terms for all stakeholders.Programming Languages: Python, R, SAS, SQL (Postgres & MySQL), GitTools: Tableau, Scipy, Numpy, Scikit-Learn, matplotlib, seaborn, GPT2, BERT, nltk, spaCy, Tidyverse, lme4, ggplot2, igraphMethods: Natural Language Processing, Network Analysis, Survival Analysis, Causal & Statistical Inference, Experimental Design, Machine Learning (supervised and unsupervised), Data Wrangling and Visualization, AWS
