Coach Gentry has a Bachelors Degree from Concordia University, and has been a scout assigned to Chuck Fick in Central and Southern California for the 2006 World Champion St. Louis Cardinals Baseball Club since 2001. Coach Gentry is Director of Baseball Operations and Head Coach for the Cardinals Scout Teams in Southern California, which are comprised of top prospect high school players competing in the MLB Scout League in Southern California, Arizona, and Nevada. Coach Gentry was is a former Senior Director of Baseball Operations/Asst. GM for the Texas Rangers MiLB Cal League affiliate Bakersfield Blaze. A former CIF Coach of the Year at the high school level, Coach Gentry previously coached at Cal State University Bakersfield (NCAA D1), Taft College (CA), Bakersfield Christian High School (CA), Liberty High School (Bakersfield, CA), Buena High School (Ventura, CA) and with Future of America, and Coastal Pro Sports Baseball Camps. In the professional ranks Gentry was signed as a free agent middle infielder by the Pacific Suns Baseball Club of the Western Baseball League (Independent Professional AA), and was requested as the first pitching coach for the Macon Music of the South Coast League. Coach Gentry is a life member in the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association, the Minor League Baseball Alumni Association, and is an active member of the American Baseball Coaches Association, the National Pitching Association and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
