The Ontario Chapter of HIMSS is a dynamic, growing branch of HIMSS which brings together clinicians, informaticians and health tech business with the hope of solving problems in the healthcare space in Canada. We do this with educational sessions, thought leadership and mentorship of young professionals.

Increase organizational analytics capabilities by leading the strategic planning and development of organizational and program-level dashboards and KPIs and the Infoway Insights analytics website. deliver high quality and impactful studies that inform the Canadian digital health landscape. Continuously looking for opportunities to unlock value in our data in order to enable more timely and precise access to information, improve operational efficiencies and support tactical and strategic decisions.

Establish and maintain harmonious relationships with internal and external stakeholders in a matrix organization to ensure a coordinated, consistent, national approach for change management, clinical adoption, and benefits evaluation. Responsible for data analysis, financial modelling, extrapolation, and trend forecasting in order to demonstrate current and future benefits and communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders such as senior executives, professional agencies, industry experts, and various levels of government.Negotiate, monitor, and report on end-user funding targets for all corporate digital health investments. Work with teams from various provincial ministries, external consultants, and academic institutions to develop fair and equitable target frameworks in order to promote user adoption and mitigate project risk.Led the development and roll-out of two pan-Canadian studies on the benefits and growth of telehealth and remote patient monitoring. Communicated results and demonstrated thought leadership to a broad audience via national conferences, publications and webinars.

Developed, benchmarked, and analyzed efficiency, quality, and safety indicators for over 30 health information technology projects. Created a benefits toolkit and transferred knowledge both internally and to peer hospitals.Responsible for preparing and presenting bi-annual performance measurement, quality improvement, and risk management reports to senior government officials in order to meet gated funding requirements. Developed the 2008-2011 Information Technology Strategic Plan. Lead consultation with internal stakeholders and full analysis of external environment. Aligned benefits framework and overall strategic direction with those of corporate plan resulting in yearly tracking and reporting of performance indicators.

Developed allocation methodology for distributing incremental funding to health care providers and LHINs in order to increase capacity for high priority surgical and diagnostic procedures and ensure equitable access for Ontarians.Responsible for setting financial and volume targets, performance measurement, and the development of business cases as part of the Results-based Planning process.Analyzed and evaluated proposals by Ontario hospitals to increase volume and reduce waiting times for Cataract Surgery and Diagnostic Imaging (MRI/CT)- Over 30% reduction in cataract surgery wait times since assuming responsibility for the portfolio- Developed new cataract funding model that achieves annual cost savings in excess of $3M Ministry representative on the Provincial Cataract Surgery Expert Panel, MRI/CT Expert Panel, and Wait Time Information Strategy Expert Panel.

Mitigated potential issues by providing strategic communications advice, recommendations, and options to the Minister and/or staff regarding media relations and communications, legislative, legal, policy, operational, and environmental issues; and identifying and resolving sensitive matters.Prepared briefing notes, analyzed position papers, media reports, speeches, news releases, and other documents, under very short deadlines, in English and French, for the use of the Minister and senior staff.

Briefed the Minister on policy issues relating to funding, governance, and integration of acute services programs. Oversaw the policy approval process in the Ministry and ensured that new policy directions are consistent with the governmental mandate and overall strategy.Worked with other ministries and external stakeholders in the development of policy and legislation.

Engaged and collaborated with staff at all levels of the organization to design, plan, and deliver training programs for business and clinical computer systems (Misys, McKesson) within a large, teaching and research hospital.

Provided group and 1-1 instruction to GMAT, SAT, and GRE students in accordance with The Princeton Review’s curriculum and training. Demonstrated a strong ability to improve students’ test scores and assist them in achieving their learning and career objectives.
