Responsible for ESAB's ASME/ISO/Military compliant quality management system.

Assisted ESAB with a Laboratory Information Management System software configuration/implementation project. The project uses Wavefront Software's LIMS web-based software to manage the laboratory workflow, collect test data, and produce Certificates of Analysis for tested order customers. Later implementation to include Highway, Seismic, Agency, Research and QA work orders through the lab.

* Responsible for Stoody and All-State brand quality assurance, product evaluation, continual improvement, and engineering functions. * Directed the plant-wide ISO 9001 quality management system, ISO 14001/45001 EHS management system, preventive maintenance, major capital expenditures, continual improvement activities and building/grounds. Guided facility through ISO registration and over 20 years of subsequent surveillance audits as management representative without a major nonconformance. * Created entirely new EHS policy, objectives, and system documentation to support ISO registration.* Purchased, configured, and implemented new software for managing the training system.

Responsible for all quality assurance, product evaluation and continual improvement functions.* Product and process knowledge expert* Manage weld test, chemistry and QA laboratories. Monitor quality KPI's to ensure improvement.* Responsible for the ISO 9001/14001/45001 quality and EHS management systems, capital expenditures, cost-reduction and continual improvement activities. Guided the 100 employee manufacturing facility through ISO 9001 registration, and 25+ subsequent surveillance audits, with no major nonconformances.* Responsible for all quality assurance and product evaluation functions. * Supervise preparation and issue of product certifications.* Authorize final release of $45M of hardfacing, stainless steel and high-alloy welding consumables for shipment annually.* Directed upgrade to QMS including creating, programming and implementing a new PC application - the Quality Data Management System - which encompasses certification, product property, corrective action, measuring/test equipment, nonconforming material, continual improvement and document control modules.

Provided full-spectrum welding engineering support to all manufacturing areas - sheet metal, piping, foundry, machine shop, structural and final assembly. * Worked with mild steel, HY-80/100/130, Inconel 600/625, stainless steels (austenitic, martensitic and duplex), nickel-copper, copper-nickel, aluminum and titanium.* Thorough hands-on knowledge of all conventional welding processes including FCAW, SMAW, SAW, GMAW (short circuiting, pulsed and spray), GTAW, ESW and stud welding.* Reviewed structural drawings, optimizing joint design for assembly sequence and weld process.* Supervised and instructed 11 technicians in performing 50+ process, consumable or equipment evaluations and procedure qualifications to continuously reduce welding costs and improve weld quality.
