Primary architect and developer for a unique travel startup offering tools and resources for group travel planning. Led the re-architecting and redesign of the application and website following a major shift in company focus. Development was done in Java, using Tapestry, Hibernate, Spring, and Tomcat. Later, helped with transitioning the site to Ruby on Rails.

Lead developer for a Perl-based intranet site. Responsibilities include software design and development, database design and development, system architecture, and system administration.

Joined as the eighth employee and first full-time engineer, and was crucial in helping iSyndicate become a pioneer in Internet-syndicated content and Internet syndication infrastructure. Developed many of their initial internal systems and end-user applications. Moved from Engineering to Product Management in March 2000. Responsible for conceiving, designing, developing, and project managing numerous products, both internal and customer-facing, using Java, Perl, XML, and relational databases, among other technologies. Other responsibilities included research and evaluation of standards and vendor technologies, and input into overall product and engineering infrastructure strategies. Was also a sought-after technical resource for partner and critical customer discussions.

Technical lead on a number of projects: a Java version of Allaire's Cold Fusion application server; a Java client-server database access tool using JDBC, RMI, and CORBA; a Web/Java-based course catalog and registration application, integrated into an existing PeopleSoft system. Spearheaded the establishment of a West Coast presence for the Emerging Technologies Division.

Co-founded iSYS Hungary, Hungary's first business-focused Internet Service Provider and a leading web design and consulting firm. Performed a critical role in nearly every aspect of the company's development, including business planning, technical management, recruiting, and financial controlling. Primary focus was on software development, most notably Intranet application design and development.

Participated in two large programming projects. Responsibilities included the design and development of Object-Oriented applications, using C++ and Smalltalk, in a Windows environment. Also provided technical support for clients.
