About Bhabagrahi Natha Sharma

I am a Ph.D. research scholar at the smart material characterization lab of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. My broad research area is structural health monitoring using guided ultrasonic wave propagation in structures. My work focuses on damage detection in thin plates with surface bonded piezoelectric transducers using Lamb wave propagation under varying thermal environments. This work involves experiments of ultrasonic wave propagation and numerical simulation using commercially available FEM software Abaqus. My work also focuses on the development of efficient analytical models for actuation, propagation, and sensing of Lamb waves in thin-walled structures, which is essential for the better design of Structural health monitoring systems.I hold an M.Tech degree from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. My M.Tech thesis focuses on the development of two-dimensional coupled efficient third-order zigzag theory for hybrid doubly curved shallow shell for electro-thermo-mechanical loading.
