Ben Haddock is Emerging Technologies Demonstrator at Sandwell College. Working from the College’s state-of-the-art Fab Lab, Ben collaborates with students, lecturers to explore innovative methods for enhancing teaching, learning, and assessment through new technologies, including virtual reality, artificial intelligence and smart glasses. Ben has presented his work at a number of national conferences organised by the likes of Jisc, the Blended Learning Consortium, and the Association of Colleges. His work has been featured in prominent media outlets such as TES, BBC News and FE News. Ben has also led on several groundbreaking innovation projects with regional employers, contributing to Sandwell College receiving the Excellence in Science, Technology and Innovation Award from the Black Country Chamber of Commerce in 2023. He was also made a Jisc Community Champion in 2022 for his commitment to promoting technological best practices among colleagues.
